 Syrian President Bashar al-Assad visited the UAE, which is his first visit to an Arab country since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis in 2011. He was received at Dubai International Airport by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of Presidential Affairs. During the visit, he met with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, who emphasized the UAE's support for the brotherly Syrian people and cooperation in the reconstruction of Syria.  He also met with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. The UAE was and still is a great supporter of the Syrian people and has facilitated residency for the Syrians residing in it and has never stopped it, and now the UAE is taking steps with Arab coordination to return Syria to its seat in the Arab League.

  The UAE has three major priorities during its Security Council presidency for the month of March, and they are the climate, women and Arab issues. The UAE intends to hold three events related to its priorities in the council, the first on women, peace, security and partnership, the second on climate security, and the third event revolving around the cooperation of the Security Council and the League of Arab States. The UAE has always been concerned with the Arab peoples and issues important for the stability and security of the brotherly Arab countries, and believes that the openness of countries and societies to each other would deepen the bonds of friendship and rapprochement in a way that supports an atmosphere of peace, understanding and dialogue at the regional and global levels.
